Bereavement Camps for Children
The Carpenter Foundation supports the use of bereavement camps as an effective form of intervention for children who have experienced the loss of a loved one.
Current research shows that such camps are effective methods to assist bereaved children develop and build resilience in dealing with loss.
The Carpenter Foundation provides and partners with other organizations to organize weekend-long camp experiences for children aged 7 to 17 years of age.
These camp offerings are charged with traditional camp activities combined with grief education and emotional support carried out by health care professionals and trained volunteers.
